Lecture on alternative career paths in law for the British Law Centre
I recently had the opportunity to deliver a lecture to students of the British Law Centre programme, and it was a real pleasure to be back.
Having once been part of the programme myself, returning in a different role felt particularly meaningful. It offered a valuable moment to reflect on my own professional journey, as well as the role such programmes can play in shaping future legal careers.
During the session, I spoke about a topic I care deeply about: the importance of charity and pro bono work within the legal profession. We discussed how engaging in this type of work not only supports those in need, but also allows lawyers to develop essential skills and gain a broader perspective on the justice system.
Beyond the traditional path: Alternative careers in law
We explored pro bono work, roles within international organisations and charities, and other meaningful career paths for lawyers who want to make a broader impact.
